Concert Cornucopia

I was talking to my friend Erin the other day about concerts - and it got me thinking about all the concerts I have been to in the past. So, I thought I would try and see if I could remember them.

If you remember one that I went to and I haven't included it - let me know. Also, have you seen any of these bands? What did you think?

Enjoy! Also, thanks to Freddi for helping me remember... she and I went to a lot of these together...

Book: Natural Born Charmer by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

I loved this book. It's witty, funny, clever... Very entertaining.

If you have never listened to any of Phillips books before, check them out too. She uses recurring characters in some of them, but you don't need to listen to them in any particular order.

The other one I read by Phillips was Match Me If You Can, also good.

Check her out. 5 out of 5 bookmarks.

10lbs down, 10lbs to go. PART ONE

So, if any of you have been following my weight loss challenge - here's the latest:

I have lost 10 lbs.

*YAY*

I didn't really think that I looked so bad where I was - but having lost the first 10, I can now see that not only do I already look better, but other things are changing that needed to change.

Here are the things that just the first 10 lbs have changed for me:

1. My blood pressure. I have always been on the higher side - even in high school - so when my doctor made me go get blood work last summer, it kind of scared me. Granted, it still took until February of this year to actually make any sort of committment to change, but since I have done this, my BP has gone down at least 20 points. Yeehaw.

2. My jeans. My jeans are looser. And, this would be expected with a 10 lbs change - only thing is, my jeans are expensive!!!! So, I'm happy about the weight loss, but - I'm gonna need new jeans next fall. :) Sorry, Rob!

3. My attitude. No, I'm just kidding on this one. I've still got my attitude. :)

4. My gluteus maximus. When I started working at the Post Office, a "friend" of mine said that my back side would become flat. Well, hell... she was right. However, just recently, I have noticed that it is not flat anymore. ;)

5. Slow - not me. Playing softball does not require too much running, but when it does, in the past I have been - uh... slow. Well, recently I was told that "Hey, you were movin'" implying of course of my new found speed. Now, I'm no speed racer by any means, but I have improved somewhat.

I'm on my way to losing the next 10 and with that, I will post more things that I have found to be beneficial...other than the obvious. :)

Book: Shopaholic and Baby, by Sophie Kinsella

It's the 5th book in the Sophia Kinsella series. And this time, I've read them all! No confusion here.

Becky Bloomwood is back and as the title would suggest - there's a baby involved! If you have read the previous books in this series, you know how funny they are. This one does not fail to deliver.

I say: 5 out of 5 bookmarks.

**Definately make sure you read the first books in the series, in order:

1. Confessions of a Shopaholic
2. Shopaholic Takes Manhattan
3. Shopaholic Ties the Knot
4. Shopaholic and Sister

eThanks

My mom and dad taught me well. It was stressed to me all growing up that when you receive a gift from someone, you send them a thank you note. No matter the length, just a little something to show your appreciation for their thoughtfulness.

And, to this day, I do this. I am trying to drill this into my stepsons mind as well - only thing is, it is becoming harder and harder to 1) remember to write them and 2) actually WRITE them.

Using a writing utensil and putting it to paper is - well - hard. Both mentally and physically. I actually find that my brain either is moving way to slow for my hands or vice versa. Sometimes, I forget how to spell things - easy things. And, my fingers start hurting after a few lines of scrawl...

It makes me wonder about the acceptability of eThanks. Is it ok to send out emails or ecards as thank you notes? I have a feeling that people my parents age and older would dismiss this method as both impersonal and unthoughtful.

But is it?

Book: Capitol Murder, by William Bernhardt

I just finished this book and it was good-ish. But, part of that so-so opinion is due to the fact that this is book #14 in the Ben Kincaid series.

I kind of forgot that when I got it.

I have read one or two in the series.... I think, but I really don't remember. In fact, going back and looking, I couldn't even tell you which one I read. I'm pretty sure I did - but the title escapes me.

Anyway, that aside, the main "murder" part of the book was good. It did get into some weird vampire stuff though, and that is where I had to just push through. But overall, pretty good.

If you've read it, lemme know what you think.

I say: 3 out of 5 bookmarks.

The Trouble with Blogging...

The trouble with blogging is having the patience to dole out posts at a pace that does not overwhelm any readers I might have.

I am impatient.

I have several posts ready to go, but do not what to throw them all out there in one day - I need to set them free...daily? Weekly? It might be a challenge for someone like me who has something to say ALL THE TIME.

For Pete's sake, I am posting a blog about posting blogs. I rest my case.

The Jamba

*sigh*

Here is how retarded I am. I went to Curves Friday night and on the way home, I decided that I wanted Jamba Juice for dinner. Mmmmm... Strawberry Nirvana.

I pull into the lot, park and start walking up to the store.

Damn you, Friday night! As I get closer, I see that not only is it packed, but the place is filled with Beautiful People. You know, Friday-night people. We're-hittin'-the-club people. I'm-dressed-to-impress people. People who smell good.

Me? I'm standing there in my work out shorts and post office t-shirt, hair pulled back, tennis shoes and I am sure that my legs need lotion.

So, here's my thought process:

I could just go in, ignore the Beautiful People and get my smoothie...

-then-

I bet I could change back into my jeans by laying down in the back of my CRV....

-then-

Maybe I'll just stand outside for a few minutes and check out what's going on, play on my phone like I am texting my friend who isn't there yet...

-then-

Crap. Here comes another hot chick. Damnit!

-then-

Ok, let me just act like my friend isn't coming, so gee, I better leave....

-then-

Stroll to the car, jump in and leave.

Yes, I'm a loser. Capital L. I didn't get my smoothie because of the intimidation factor. Isn't that the LAMEST thing ever? And, if anything, I am the one who should be in a Jamba Juice - you know, healthy smoothie for the gal who just worked out??

So I drove off, feeling just a little depressed at my behavior, and instead went to Baja Fresh, where the people inside were just regular people and got a great, big, giant Dos Manos Barrito.

Blogging Does a Mind Good

To Blog, or not to Blog. Well, it's not really a great question because I have been blogging for some time now. Only you might not have ever read what I write because I only do it on MySpace. But, I have decided that in order to get a bigger audience, I had to venture out and actually BLOG.

So, be patient. I have a LOT to say. Usually. Bookmark me and check back often.
